Saddleworth Clarion is a growing cycling club with 100+ members from the Saddleworth villages, Oldham, Tameside and Kirklees. We organise on and off road club rides and events for like- minded cyclists in and around the beautiful Pennine countryside of Saddleworth. We welcome riders of all abilities to join our cycling club.
Our aim is simple – to enjoy the full spectrum of cycling activities in the company of others, from the recreational through to the competitive, both on and off the road. With experienced cyclists and newcomers alike, we share our interests, knowledge and experience of routes and cafés for the benefit of all in the club.
The Saturday C Ride is the easiest of the club rides. It usually covers 30 - 40 miles at a steady gentle pace and includes a stop at a cyclist friendly café. It's ideal for those wishing to try out the club and experience the social element of riding with a group of fellow cyclists. No one is ever left behind.More
The Sunday A Ride is the longest weekend ride the Club undertakes and usually involves a ride out to a café. Typically rides are 50 - 70 miles long; distance depends on the riders in the group, the time of year and weather conditions. The A Ride pace is moderate.More
The Sunday B Ride is a faster, shorter ride than the A ride and doesn’t usually include a café stop. Typically covers around 35 - 45 miles but it can be more or less depending on the riders in the group, the terrain, and weather conditions.More
See how you’re getting on against your fellow club mates.
