Saddleworth Audax Rides 7 July 2019
Sunday 7th July 2019 will once again see groups of cyclists set off from the village hall in Denshaw for the popular Saddleworth Audaxes. For the 6th year this long running Audax ride is organised by Nephi Alty of Saddleworth Clarion.
There are as usual 2 scenic routes to choose from.
The 200km Bowland 200 goes over to Settle and back via Bentham and Slaidburn in the Forest of Bowland. Whilst the shorter 100km route is this year the ever popular Widdop 100. This takes the riders over to Oxenhope and Haworth, with a control at the cafe at Wycoller, before a return via Widdop and Hebden Bridge.
Always well supported, both routes include a fair amount of climbing, but with generous time limits to complete. Plus very welcome home made cakes and sandwiches, courtesy of Saddleworth Clarion members, await riders at the finish.
